Tell us about your company’s journey:
Guard Street was founded in 2014 shortly after the Target breach. Our founders previously worked at companies that protected the data of many of the largest brands on the planet. Guard Street was the first privacy protection company to package privacy tools for consumers that included a data vault, secure email account, password manager and virtual private network. Identity theft protection was added too. The services have been offered through several national brands. They are offered to many employees and are white labeled. Guard Street quickly expanded into commercial cybersecurity and provides its portfolio of services to large and small businesses nationally. Our value proposition includes a holistic approach to protecting clients. We find a solution to improve their cyber posture based on their current and long-term objectives in the most flexible and affordable manner. We continue to bring unique and layered services to market in order to stay ahead of the changing cyber-attacks.
What has been your company’s greatest success?
Our success comes from customizing solutions to meet the specific needs of our clients. While Guard Street works across many industries, we have recently been excited to see drastic and statistical improvement in the cyber posture of a large county in Wisconsin. Numerous towns in the county had previously been attacked with ransomware and we were able to assist them. We also conducted a series of tests and assessments and ultimately identified an enormous number of dangerous vulnerabilities that have since been remediated. This made a significant impact on securing the county, businesses and residences. We also created a very easy to understand, white labeled cybersecurity service for small businesses sold through IDShield that has successfully launched nationally.
How has the current pandemic affected your business? How have you adjusted?
The pandemic caused cyber-attacks to increase over 400% in a short amount of time. Cybersecurity is now the largest and fastest growing industry on the planet. This has kept our business very busy protecting existing and new clients. We continue to adjust to the changing cyber threats for our clients and have brought many new, proactive security approaches to market as a result. We also expanded our services to work with key Department of Defense contractors and subcontractors and we have brought affordable and easy to understand and use cybersecurity to the small business market.
What are your company’s goals for 2021?
Since Guard Street was launched, our intention has been to make the world a better place by protecting businesses and employees from cybercriminals. We genuinely use our business as a force for good. We’ve found that providing easy to understand services that are extremely effective in a manner that delights our clients will result in helping the most businesses and people possible. 2021 is a year of bringing more of such services to market and our goal is to protect substantially more businesses.

Your employees are your greatest asset. However, if they’re not properly trained about cyber threats, they can be a liability. That’s why we offer an employee cyber risk assessment and personalized training. It’s tremendously effective compared to generic training available in the marketplace.
