What does your company do?

Delos Therapy uses a proprietary technique to relieve chronic pain, inflammation, and soft tissue dysfunction using mechanical pressure to pinpoint muscle tightness, known as knots” or hyper-contracted fascia, to restore muscle pliability.

Tell us about your company’s journey:

Co-Founders Eric Owens and Mimi Bosika met as teenagers at the US Olympic Table Tennis Center where they were professional athletes. At that time, they jokingly planned to start a company one day to heal the world of chronic pain. The plan was to bring the combination of business acumen and medical training to a venture that incorporated the exclusive manual therapy technique developed by Eric’s father in the 1980s. In 2012, fifteen years after their initial discussion, Eric and Mimi found investors to help them start Delos Therapy after Eric completed his studies at Midwestern University and Mimi completed her studies at University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

What has been your company’s greatest success?

Our greatest success has been providing answers and therapeutic solution to all chronic pain sufferers, which has enabled us to open our seventh location this year. There is something missing in the conventional approach of getting people out of pain and our therapy addresses this gap to offer unparalleled results to our clients. This year, we are initiating Delos Institute to teach wellness practitioners about this missing link and to make available a research-based approach to healing soft tissue dysfunction.

Do you have special quarantine hours? Curbside pickup/delivery?

We are able to follow the government’s guidelines and still bring relief to our clients in our clinics. We take great care in keeping our clinics clean and making sure that masks are worn by staff and clients. Furthermore, we have also initiated a new service called Delos Delivered, which is Delos Therapy in clients’ homes.

What are your company’s goals for 2020?

We are aiming to open two additional physical locations in 2020. One has already been operational for a few weeks in the West Loop and the second is coming to Winnetka in November. We are also introducing an educational division called Delos Institute where classes will be taught to wellness practitioners (massage therapists, yoga instructors, personal trainers, etc.) on the various topics associated with our evidence-based approach and philosophies. Lastly, we will be introducing a myofascial self-treatment tool to the market so that people can take care of their bodies at home when they can’t come in to see us.
